| | | Dikerogammarus villosus, the "killer” shrimp coming to a water body near you It has been confirmed that D. villosus (a potentially invasive non-native species) is present at a site close to me. Apparently it is a voracious predator of aquatic invertebrates. Anyone else have any experience of it?

The water i worked on you would have to check every boat (for Zebra Mussels) that came in from Cardiff bay before they where allowed to sail. And then we would have to rely on the honesty of those that where bringing them here. |

I'd suggest they arrived via boats or imported plants, in other words simply by being carried and unavoidable. In 10,000 years they might be called native. Any climate changes will change what's 'native' according to what survives an environment.
How big are these critters?
