| | | How could water form this shape? Hello
This is a serious enquiry so no sniggering at the back.
I put this water out for the birds yesterday. This morning it had frozen as normal but had this "upside down icicle" in it. It's a plastic dish standing on concrete and there is nothing above it from which anything could fall. The water is about 1.5 inches deep and the "icicle" is 3 inches high.
My question is: What would have caused it to form?
Thanks
Puzzled Desi

| | | Re: How could water form this shape? I understand you can easily make them in a domestic freezer. IIRC you need to use de-ionised(distilled) water for best results.
