Oh yes, Red Robin I see the second critter now. I think it is the same but being sideways on you can only see one of the tails, which I had better add in case some pedantic.... take me up; are not actually tails but breathing apparatus.

You're right: It is the same, I spotted a side view of it again today and was able to see the three tail prongs. I didn't know they were breathing apparatus.

So, I definitely have two and am wondering how many typically might be most often found in a small pond without fish.

The question remains whether they are Damselfly or Mayfly nymphs, according to answers in this thread.

The question doesn't really remain! They are Damselfly mymphs.....try googling them.
