| | Re: Crayfish imbalance I'm beginning to feel sorry i started the cullinary thing as the trap/don't trap debate has now become "circular". I think it's time to put a sock in it as all aspects & opinions seem to have been covered and the do's and don'ts are becoming entrenched.
Do your own things guys but remember "do no damage" (Hypocates). Be sensible. We're all nature lovers and should do our best to protect, nurture and preserve it.
I'm signing off this one.
I love this site
Wassail! to you all

| | | Re: Crayfish imbalance I have often looked at these forums and thought I might be able connect with like minded individuals who actually enjoy the diversity of life and use of the countryside around us. People who are sensible, intelligent and above parish committee style bickering for the sake of sounding important. I was wrong.
Get off your technological high horses and go for a walk. I'm off. |

Get off your technological high horses and go for a walk. I'm off. | ....I hope "I'm off" doesn't mean you're giving up so soon on this WAB site. You can't realistically expect everyone to agree about absolutely everything. It's far more interesting that people can exchange, share, modify, change, their views - On the internet that can only be done through discussion.

I could be mistaken but some of the youngsters round here use the term to tell someone to....well not a very polite phrase!

| | | Re: Crayfish imbalance Gone for good? No, just been out and collected some rose hips for syrup and hawthorn berries for brandy. I expect somebody will accuse me of criminal damage, trespass and theft. Well this is Suffolk and we are real people here not "barrack room lawyers". I am annoyed at some peoples' need to look down their noses at everybody else's lives. There is knowledge out there that needs to be passed on not frowned at by civil servants with nothing better to do. Yes I understand the law, yes I respect the law, do I obey every single law to the letter? No, and nor does anybody else. Common sense and individual responsibility are being forced out by committee mentality.
Back to my rose hips... |

Back to my rose hips... | ....At last! Someone here who thinks and does very much as I do.
I've got lots of rose hips too but my syrup making efforts last year weren't too clever so I'm leaving them for the birds etc this year.
Laws are to respected but not blindly followed. Afterall, they're only made by other men and with other agendas.
