| | | Unknown anemones We found these anemones in a rock pool in Pembrokeshire. We can't find out what they are (not the beadlet anemone!) but we did manage to find a similar photo of 'unknown anemones' taken in Cornwall. Does anyone know what they are?

| | | Re: nyone know what these anemones are? I'm not sure about the colony of anemones behind the Beadlet, it's tricky to work out how many animals are there! The uneven shape and densely packed, short tentacles look quite good for Daisy Anemone but personally I've never seen them living in a tight group like this. It may be worth contacting the marine life experts at MarLIN - http://www.marlin.ac.uk/contact.php they should be able to give you some further help. I'd be interested in hearing the result if you do manage to get them identified

| | | Re: nyone know what these anemones are? Thanks for the suggestion GuyF. I've had a look at a few pictures and they do look like squashed daisy anemones. I will take your advice and send the picture to MarLin and let you know if I find out for sure. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
