We have a Mink in the river at the bottom of the garden. If it is trapped will it be destroyed or rehomed? |

It's a really difficult dilema. They are very destructive to native wildlife but on the other hand....
Report it and get it trapped or put up with it destroying your native wildlife.

As far as I am aware, once trapped it is illegal to release back into the wild or keep it (at least without a license). |

yep - it will be destroyed, which although sad for the individual mink is necessary as they are not native and thus cannot be relocated in the uk

Please get it trapped if you can. Otherwise it will wipe out vast swathes of the other wildlife, eg all your water voles.  |

send for me! Hope you have caught it by now. Males are relatively easily caught. Females wilier. Mink are hugely destructive, constantly in killing mode and not eating all their prey. We have evidence of one animal killing 154 common gull in 2 nights on an island. |
