Thought this was just a bit of bird poo when i first spotted it last night, but after looking at it again this morning, i now think not. Can someone point me in the right direction please, found it on a plant in the pond.

Do you have any measurements? I can't tell how big it is.

These are horsefly Tabanidae eggs. Hope you dont mind large biting flies haha. Joking aside they are unlikely to cause you any problems.

Indeed it is Dogghound, within a couple of days they had all dropped off. They don't just bite you know, they take massive chunks out of you.

gosh my dad went on holiday last year to the country and got bit by one of those ..lol .... i shouldnt laugh but he looked like he had a big red tennis ball on his leg the bite was that big and bumped up that much took weeks for it to go down.. ive never seen a bite like it i kept teasing him asking if he was sure he didnt get biten by a horse ! ..... nasty things
