I was wondering if anyone would know what these eyes belong to, they look a bit freaky to me  it wasn't until I put the images on the pc, that I realized I hadn't actually got the pic of the Emperor Dragonfly after all  but had got these instead 
Any thoughts anyone

No idea but very intrigued to hear what it is!
What kind of area / setting was it in? Was it brackish water?

Are they not just bubbles coming up from something under the water and the 'eyes' are just reflection of the sun and or flash?

Think you may be right, all the catchlights are exactly the same angle etc! |

Thanks guys Tobyh it's a pond that's quite away from anything else, there's a river a few yards away but it doesn't feed the pond, and I can't imagine it being brackish either. I've added a pic of the pond, it's used to be a lovely pond, but was left to be flooded over winter and is only just recovering.
When I was there, there was quite a bit of Dragonfly/Damselfly activity and the fish seemed to be jumping as well, there was also quite a few things jumping into the water from near the bank, they were to quick for me to see what they were, but I assumed they were frogs as I saw a few babies around, I didn't use flash, but I think it was one of those days when it was partially cloudy
Interesting that it may just be bubbles and reflection and not some sort of weird alien
