does a damselfly larva mean my pond isnt stagnent

i have a pond that is about 5 by four feet and it has loads of water boatmen and also a few mosquito larvae ,but yesterday i spied a damslefly larva , does that mean it isnt stagnent or do damsleflies lay their eggs in stagnent ponds.

So called stagnant ponds are ideal habitat for certain Damselfly species. Large Reds like varied habitat such as bog pools and brackish ditches. Azures love garden ponds.
The fact you've seen one should give you a clue to the answer.

Being stagnant doesn't necessarily mean a bad pond, great crested newts thrive in ponds that we would consider 'stagnant' water.

However, the presence of damselfly nymphs certainly does indicate a healthy pond system, so enjoy that .
