| | | Re: Mains water and tadpoles. I dug a new pond earlier this year, purely for wildlife, I already have a larger pond that has a number of fish. When the frogs and toads spawned I transfered some spawn to the new pond which had only existed a matter of weeks, and because the rain water butt barely catches enough water to keep the existing pond's levels up, was filled entirely with raw tap water.
The taddys in the new pond have done considerably better and are much larger than the the ones in the original pond, perhaps there's something in those much maligned 'nutrients'! |

| | | Re: Mains water and tadpoles. I depends where you live. i had no problem in my old area but these days we can`t use any water straight from the tap without serious risk to fish.
I have only third hand knowledge that the water company use "Chlorides" or "chlorites" rather than pumpimg chlorine gas through the water as they have done previously.
Maybe some wise Wabber will inform us all properly.
