| | | Re: suitable container for pond Tads doing really well and seem to love their new home. I fancy I see some little legs appearing on a few so have bought some bloodworms as suggested.
I wonder if anyone ever has problems with mosquitos in their ponds? I read that 'blue eyes' fish love mosquito larvae and wont harm the tads/froglets. Can anyone confirm whether this is correct please?
Thx |

Thx | I have newts so they take care on any mosquitoes..Its a bad idea to put any fish in a wildlife pond the wildlife in the pond will take care of any flying larvae..
Its matter of natural balance
Anyway the tads will soon gobble the mossys up.
My barrel is totally wild and I have never had any problems the barrel is on my patio where we sit out all summer.

Thanks Kayleigh. |

| | | Re: suitable container for pond A few years ago we had an offcut of pondliner in a hole in the ground (pond would be too posh a name) the Frog spawn thrived and reached maturity however the same pool the following year had a twice daily visit from a Heron
so we moved the same liner piece into a half barrel this too was very sucessful and was only pensioned off last year as we needed the patio space
