| | | Damsel and dragon larvae ID please Hope these are ok to ID from - I appreciate these can be difficult but these are the only shots I have (so far). I believe the Damsels to be either Large red or Blue Tailed and the Dragon to be a Broad Bodied Chaser?
Thanks in advance!
Hopefully someone can help then I'll pop em in the main Gallery.
Thank you..

| | | Re: Damsel and dragon larvae ID please I'm not familiar with Broad-bodied Chaser, so can't help with that. There is ususally a black "X" on the three lamellae in Large Red Damselflies, so I don't think your Damsel is a Large Red.
I have to say I'm amazed at how clean they are in your photos. I'm used to guddling for Dragon and Damsel nymphs in bog pools and peaty pools, and they tend to be a lot grubbier and look very different. |

These were taken (in a tank) from my garden pond. The pond is only 3m by about 1m and was created last may. There are no waterways close to where I am, just a mini lake at a nearby hospital. I live on the edge of town, suburban area.
Typical of me to forget the overhead shots - i'll try and grab some later.
I'm surprised at the mayfly response - for some reason I didn't even consider them.
