what's this creature?
A few of these came out of a large lump of drift wood washed up on the river bank at the mouth of Harwich Harbour. Can anyone i.d. them for me?

Hi metalfish

It's a Sea Slater - a marine woodlouse, very common and widespread around our coastline.

Sea Slater Ligia oceanica.

thank you Woodman, I'm just starting to learn strandline critters and remnants of sea beasties that get washed up on the shore (not quite technical terms I know) and this is a new one for me
