White fungal infection

Hi I am new to this site and hope I have the correct forum.

We have several medium (7 inch approx) + 4 smaller fish in our pond but one has become ill and has since died of what looks like a white fungal infection.
For some reason the frogs we have in the pond have been trying to climb all over it, not sure if that is relevant or not, so I separated it from the others.

Could anyone give me some ideas on what it might be and if it is possible to combat it.

Fungus is usually a secondary infection which grows on an ulcer or a wound. In future it would be best to take the fish out put it in a tank and treat it with a fungicide, you can get this sort of thing in aquatic shops. Are the other fish ok? if its one fish I would not worry to much.

The Male frogs which are likely to be breeding at this time of year can occasionally in their excitement grab hold of fish mistaking them for females.

Thanks dogghound, much appreciated, and it does seem to have been only the one fish infected....so far fingers crossed.

As for the frogs.....well no doubt before long the pond will be full of spawn if their activity is anything to go by.
