| | | 3 Marine Creatures for ID I took all of these photos in early March 2010 along the shore of Belfast Lough at low tide. The first was probably about 2-3 cms long. The second worm was also very small as can be seen from the size of the barnacle in the same pic. The last creature was like a blob of jelly but it appears to have some 'feelers' to the left of it's body. Might it be some sort of snail/slug? It was also about 2-3cms in length. IDs please.
Thanks, John. |

is there only me on this one? ha ha.
The last one may be a sea slug, possibly pleurobranchus membranaceus ......................or not!
Cheers

Ken | Qualifying this by saying I live a similar distance from the sea as Ken - could the first be a Nereis type rag-worm or similar? I think the third is, as Ken suggests, a sea-slug of some type and the third I don't have much of an idea - maybe another Nereis type??

| | | Re: 3 Marine Creatures for ID im not sure if number 2 is a ragworm or not.The ragworm i find are very large (6 - 14 inch plus) at low tide, you do tend to find smaller types of worms nearer the high tide mark, which this looks like. |
