If this survey was done in 2007,say finished in Dec.07, why has it only just come out a few weeks ago? That's 27 months. Am I being stupid, but I would have thought that using computers it shouldn't take that long.?

I think you are assuming that the Countryside Survey only collected data on ponds, and that the people involved were employed on nothing else. I suspect neither of these two assumptions is true.

thats quite a quick turn around considering the size of the data set involved, last thing they want is to be accused of releasing bad science and statistics that are not backed up under scrutiny
