For identification: Wild British freshwater plant
I found this plant in a pond nearby, someone on another forum has guessed at it being a Callitriche species, another had a guess at it being a Rotala species.

Callitriche for me. I don't know Rotala but a quick search suggests it's a tropical species (temp 18 - 30 deg C) available for aquaria? It's not in the New Atlas of the British and Irish Flora.
