| | | unknown fish appearing in my pond I have recently noticed a number of small fish appearing in my pond but i am unsure what they are and how they got there in the first place!!
there is about 10 small fish (about 1-1.5 inch long) and they are mainly brown with varying amounts of pink, some just on the flanks, some on the cheeks also.....i haven't got any pics i'm afraid
can anyone help???

also most goldfish do not spawn true, their offspring are brown, with slightly goldish bits on their gill plates |

| | | Re: unknown fish appearing in my pond if you already have adult goldfish or similar in your pond, then they will most likely be young goldfish,
as captaincarot says, they are born dark coloured and gradully change over a year or two,
i very often dont see any of the young fish in my pond until they start to change colour
