| | | river trip Hi all
planning a canoe down my local river really early morning ( at dawn ) and was wondering is this the best time to see otters? as we have a very healthy popualation  im going down to see the local kingfishers that i love watching and just 4ght id ask what kind of creatures am i likely to get a glimpse of i other wise wouldnt see? thanks |

| | | Re: river trip Good luck with your trip and I hope you see the Otters but I think you will have to be on the water very early to catch a glimpse of them. You should see lots of wildlife though, Herons, Ducks, Swans, Dippers, Grey Wagtails to name a few. Let us know how you get on.

If it`s safe, I would leave before dawn so as to be in position at dawn. Whether you will see otters I don`t know but you will probably hear them whistling. Creatures you may see are water voles, water shrews, various bats. Sound seems to travel more so silence is essential, and you will have the pleasure of the dawn chorus, enjoy  ...Bob
