It must have been the roof sealant you saw in the DIY shop.
Hope this helps if you go for the "Suffolks Barrel" you wont have to waterproof it.
Have you thought about a small butyl lined pond in the ground that would be cheaper if you have room that is.

| | Re: Wildlife Container Pond? Superb, Cazzie! Lead on.
It looks a biggie - do you know the approximate diameter and depth? Can I also ask how much it cost if you don't mind me asking?
What plants will you be putting in?
Can't wait to see it - more inspiration .
MY own foray into the world of containering ponding is on hold for this month at least as money is tight but I hope to be posting pictures in July.

It's on there!.. Didn't want to hi-jack yr thread
No idea bout plants yet, but plenty of oxygenators, dwarf water lilly and flag iris are a must as Kayleigh pointed out.
Well I reckon I was well lucky. It is a big one and was £50 - 34" across x 21.5" deep. I nearly went for one on the linkies you posted but just by chance I was bored yesterday afternoon and mooched off to my local nursery - so glad I did!
Taking it over to my new place tomorrow, will fill it and see what happens lol!
I'm sure you'll get one very soon and be sure to post updates ok
