Hi everyone, it`s my first time on this bit  We were staring into a pond today & noticed this thing moving. It looks like something has gathered bits of grass/reed & stuck it to its back. In the second photo (not very good) you can just about see something sticking its head out & looking around. The whole house thing was less than an inch. Does anyone have an ideas about what it may be?

Could be a Caddis Larva, they stick bits of sticks, stone and debris onto themselves

Yes indeed. A caddis fly of some sort.

ooh yes a caddis fly
I've seen loads of pictures in my numerous pond books but yet to see any in my ponds
maybe they will arrive shortly
