Frog attached to Koi

hi linda ive noticed that there is an awful lot of algee in my pond any suggestions how to get rid of it!! someone mentioned that there is something you can get some sort of straw that you put in pond i do have a filter box and i clean the pump often but with the sun now it has become really bad jeanne

For what it's worth:

I know nothing about koi carp, but was recently round a friend's uncle who keeps them and has won major prizes in Japan and had articles published in a specialist magazine.

I noticed that there was _no_ sign of algae or any other plant material in his pond, although there was some brown debris on the bottom. I asked if he had any problems with disease and he said no, and that if the filters were kept clean and the water quality monitored there shouldn't be any problems.

Some of his fish were huge - I'll swear the biggest was a meter long!

hi jim thanks for your reply i rang my aquatic suppliers and they advised me to get clover leaf which i got today so i will wait and see they told me its very good as many customers go back for it each year i will keep you updated jeanne
