| | | Re: Unknow fish I am going to disagree with that and say dace. There is far too little colour in the fins for it to be a roach. You would expect to see orange in some of the fins were it a roach. Not a rudd quite definitely.
As regards where it was found, you must remember that anglers are notorious for stocking fish into waters where they are not native. There are even stillwater barbel now....which I find quite wrong really.

| | | Re: Unknow fish i am not sure on this , even dace have some colour to the fins . Roach do vary quite alot from river to river or lake to lake. Sometimes they are long and slim other times they can be quite deep, almost like a rudd. Often they show no colour in the fins at this size but bleak could be a possibility . Ive been a fisherman for years and still find this a hard one . naturally dace are a river fish but many large lakes have them . Bleak have a long anal fin . So my decision is,aint got a clue :-)

| | | Re: Unknow fish I was hoping it was a Grayling, the first picture gives the impression of that
long dorsal fin, second picture seems to knock that on the head

| | | Re: Unknow fish Not all roach have red fins, you do get some individuals that are very pale. The top fish is a roach. The picture of the two fish together are dace. | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
