| | | dead frogs I have found in excess of 50 dead of dying frogs over the last month. I guess they have ranavirus. Some tadpoles have hatched will they survive as frogs? |

| | | Re: dead frogs Thanks for the link
After reading it not sure if is ranavirus as my frogs seem to die in the pond, I don't know if they head for pond when they are unwell of if disease is spread by water. My fish are absolutely fine, I don't use chemicals of any sort in the garden. I have spoken to Aquatic shops in the area (borders Of Herts/Cambs) and they have other people with the same problem! Very worrying! |

| | | Re: dead frogs There will always be frog/toad deaths around breeding time as they've just come out of hibernation and don't eat before their treck to the breeding ponds. The stress of breeding (Especially for the females) get the better of some of them. Frog predators will no doubt be heading to &r skulking arond ponds at this time of year too.
However 50 dead frogs sounds quite excessive for it to be any of the above.
Is there any marks or sores etc that you've seen that could point to whats happening. ?? Could you get some pics ? | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
