| | | Re: Orkney sunsets Yep especially as I had no plans to go. I went with two Czech girls I met, Hana and Erika. We camped and found a lovely property for sale that was empty, so used the back garden. It was a fantastic spot. The weather was good too. I would recommend it to anyone. Also I never saw such clear skies at night. Fantastic

Fantastic | I know what you mean about the clear skies, a few years ago we rented a crofters cottage at Movern opposite Mull and took the telescope, took us a while to get our bearings in the nightsky and it was amazing. I like your cheap way of holidaying, great idea, now why didn't I think of that, could have saved a couple of hundred pounds. I'll keep that in mind for next year. |

| | | Re: Orkney sunsets We did a school playing field, the piece of land next to the derelict hotel at John O Groats, grass on a commercial estate, as the girls did not fancy the hospital grounds, and also found out that marinas have fantastic washrooms. I taught the girls if you walk with purpose no-one questions you and had the added bonus that should the old bill turn up they could talk they way out of it as we had planned I was to play the non english speaking Czech boy.
Job done
