There were many of these washed up on the beach at the weekend wondered what they were

Its not a jellyfish is it? The only thing that puts me off an egg is that its not a fish or a crustacean, or a mollusc egg. Not sure what else would lay eggs like this. |

Was it hard ? Looks like part of a jelly fish (which are not really fish at all).

There was many of them . They certainly didnt feel like Jelly fish but there appeared to be a few white filaments inside each one.
Have never seen anything like them,,,

Sorry just realized, this is Pleurobrachia pileus a sea gooseberry, it is a type of jellyfish though . |

Interesting never seen them before are they common?. Good job I didnt eat it . I hate gooseberries...
