| | | Re: Sea shell ID help 2. I think might be a Banded wedge shell.
6. Might be a Tower or auger shell.

| | | Re: Sea shell ID help 1 Several similar species but this looks like the thick trough shells
2 One of the tellin species. Maybe Angulus tenuis
3 Banded dogwhelk - I read somewhere that the banding has something to do with what it feeds on. Not so sure about that. I think it's just down to species variation.
4 Not convinced it's a marine sea snail. Have a look in the vegetation well above high water and you might find the same banded snails up there.
5 Grey top shell
6 One of the Turritella sp, auger shell
7 A nice specimen of sunset shell - possibly Gari fervensis
A nice colection of tideline seashells. If you havn't done any micro beachcombing give it a try too. My favourite beach for this is Sennen Beach in Cornwall. Many micro sea urchins, scallops, cowries etc all less than 5mm in size. Take a magnifying glass and take beachcombing to a whole new level.

| | | Re: Sea shell ID help Great stuff, thanks very much.
After looking into all these pics online think you are spot on. Although my only doubt is with the species of no two given how different the colours are to the pics i have found, but think as you say it must be a tellin
Will stick to the macro-beach combing i think....that is more than enough to get my head around at least for the moment! : )
until next time!
