They reckon if you keep horizontal in the water like a fish, it doesn't seem to bother them, but if you go upright - maybe like a heron or similar, they scarper!
| not sure about that, i have recently spent quite a bit of time rush harvesting in the Stour, Dorset. once your are in they have no hestitaion nibbling you toes or hairs onlegs!!(have taken to wearing lightweight trousers) and even if you keep moving stand still for more than a few seconds and they are back. Mostly minnows i will admit and something on the bed which was well camoflauged against the clay, but the larger fish, red fins i dont do aquatic fauna yet!, will cruise up and take a look. its actually been quite an eye opener for terrestrial based lifeform like me to get so intimate with our aquatic neighbours, normally they are in aquariums or batter when i see them. |

we ran a try fishing event on friday jointly with MKAA (in fact we ran one every friday through the summer hols) and the EA came down with a large tank on wheels , into which we put everything the children caught so that they could get a close look at their catch in the natural environment.
The reason for the relatively poor quality is that as i was working i only had my go everywhere F10 with me and it isnt best addapted to shooting through glass - had i had my 20D with rubber lens hood and off camera flash the images would have been rather better.
