| | | Good low tides With the sun moving southwards and we approach the autumn equinox we have the promise of some good low tides around the middle of this month. Some of the lowest tides of the year are coming up. These are the spring tides when the sun, moon and earth are all in alignment. The weekend of the 20th September should be good, unless you are able to get away to the coast during the previous week - Wednesday seems really promising.
As I am hoping to be at a boat jumble near Torquay on Sat 20th September, I might check out Meadfoot Beach that chooonz mentioned. Will check tide times again, but low tide that weekend seems to be about lunchtime down that way. The Hydrographic Office offer good on-line tide times.
Remember, if you do go rockpooling, check out your tides, be properly dressed, and be careful out there.
And one for your diary - the lowest tide we will see this side of 2025 is on the 21st Feb 2015
