i believe ive hit on something quite major and dont know who to tell first.
first ill ask a question , hopefully someone will answer then ill tell you my remarkable discovery.
"how much of an impact would using biofuels instead of fossil fuels in pleasure craft have on our coastal marine life?"
waiting for a reply.you wont believe what ill tell you. |

| | | Re: biofuel in the marine environmet Surely fuel is fuel? If we use biofuel in our boats, it is the same as using it in cars- the output is the same or similar in terms of emissions, but the only difference is whether it comes from crop plants or mineral oil reserves. The effect of biofuel plantations on local communities is a whole other issue, btu I wouldn't have thought there'd be a huge impact on our coastal life...

| | | Re: biofuel in the marine environmet thank you for your reply.
it was to do more with contamination from cantact really but ill tell you what weve started.
plesure craft around the uk are about to lse there red deisel.
biofuel used for non road use has a duty of 10ppl.
i asked the taxman if boats came under this catergory and was told they didnt know.ive had to wright a letter to get legislation written.
i was hoping it had a greater impact so the decision would go in our favour .
i suppose its 50/50 now.
thanks |

| | | Re: biofuel in the marine environmet It might do - I'm no expert in this area and it would be best talking to someone who really knows their stuff. Sorry I can't be more help and good luck.
