| | | Seaweed in local river Enteromorpha intestinalis - a green gas filled weed that resembles the intestines usually found high up on the seashore in brackish pools or on rocks where fresh water flows onto the shore. Never seen it in any other environment other than the rocky seashore.
However today, on one of our local canals, well out of tidal influences I found this same weed. Unmistakeable for anything else, has anyone else come across this weed in freshwater? I have googled it and yes it does sometimes appear in freshwater but this is a first for me. Anyone else come across it in a freshwater location?
