| | Dave the Dolphin? Dear all,
Have been lurking on these forums for a long time now, thought it was time I took the plunge and made a post!
So, first of all - HELLO!!
Second - I have recently moved to Dorset, from Kent. I used to live in Folkestone and spent many happy evenings on the beach watching the antics of Dave the Dolphin ( a FEMALE bottlenose!). Unfortunately some idiots couldnt keep out of her way (I personally had a stand up row with some louts who had a speed boat and skinful of beer and were doing "donuts" around her ) and I know that she suffered a serious injury to her tail (I believe that she lost about a third of it). Since moving down here, despite internet research I have been unable to find any news of her and I fear the worst. Has anyone here heard news of her since September 07?
Kind Regards xx |

I totally agree Jack - it IS a great place! I learn something new everytime I log in (please - no jokes about old dogs and new tricks!!)
Thanks Naturegirl - I used to go there on the bus every Friday night after work and camp all night on the beach just to catch a glimpse of her - I'll never forget the first time I saw her - the first (and still the only! ) wild dolphin that I have ever seen and I will never forget how magical it was...its good to know she's still out there...

Have you looked on the Dorset Wildlife Trust events pages (click the link to see them) for Marine & Land events happening near you?
