| | | Dragonfly Larvae I was doing a bit of blanketweed removal this morning one does neally every other day this time of year .... well in my ponds anyway
and i found a dragonfly larvae MY FIRST amongst the green mass so i quickly
put that bit of weed it was attached to back in the pond near to my iris which i only planted yesterday.
did a bit of homework on it and it could well be the larvae of a broad-bodied chaser that i saw a few weeks back.
Have to wait and see but some larvae can live in the pond for up to three years i later read! |

| | | Re: Dragonfly Larvae How exciting! I've only had my pond for about a year, and I haven't seen any larvae yet. But there are Emperor dragonflies in my area. So, fingers crossed... |

I bought a brilliant little book a while back online
A sort of and A-Z of still water aquatic creatures its so useful to someone like me that 18 months ago knew nothing!! lol
So between that book and Googling around worked out what it might be
i tried to get a pic but it had burrowed down a bit further out of sight
bet i miss it when it finally does emerge |
