It's usually illegal to collect pond fish from the wild, and is certainly illegal to release them from your pond into the wild, whether they are native species or not. Sticklebacks are occasionally available from aquatic shops these days, anyway. |

I think it's only male-on-male aggression that's a problem though, not male-to-female, and even then only if the males don't have enough space for a territory each. Hopefully someone here will have more info. |
