I couldn't understand why we'd had no frogspawn in our pond so far this year, then yesterday I had a walk around the field we rent that adjoins ours to check on the state of grass etc as we keep our flockette of pet sheep in there, to one side is a low bit and water sometimes stands there at times when the water table is high or after heavy rain, I was amazed to see a ginormous mass of frogspawn, the water only went barely midway between my ankles and knees, only about a foot or so deep, so worrying that it would dry up, I fetched a bucket and put most of it in our pond, then a bit later when I looked in the pond there were a couple of frogs in there doing their thing laying more frogspawn

so we should have pleanty of tadpoles this year, that's if its all fertile etc.
