However i dont think this is scare mongering its simply stating the damage an alien species could potentially have in Britain. Regarding pirahnas, red bellied are far from harmless they must be treated with respect in the wild and as aquarium fish.

Did you ever get to Woodend Museum at Scarborough before it was re-done (costing lots due to J. Knotweed, another alien)?
They had an aquarium there at one time, and in one tank was a vegetarian piranha. I always wanted to smuggle in a turnip to see it ripped to shreds in seconds. |

The family is large with several vegetarian species. Although ive never been to the musem since it was re-done is it as good as it was before?

Coasty, do you know? You seem to be close to the Coast. |

Well the fish is obviously dead in the photo, and having 'realised' the potential damage it could cause, surely he would have dispatched it humanely especially as he is allegedly a pike fisherman?
So when it 'later died' I assume it was four days later and why dispose of such a potentially damaging specimen, surely some authority or another would want their mitts on it?
Something doesn't add up.
