I apologize if this creature has been posted before, I've not posted in this area of the WAB site before.
I was going through my photo archives today and I came across these guys that I'd never managed to ID, to be honest I didn't even know where to start. I'd seen loads of these guys all over the beach in august 2007 on the gower peninsula (near swansea, Wales). I've no idea what they are and was hoping someone could help?

that's a sea potato. It's a burrowing sea urchin that lives on muddy ground, and is unlike other urchins you may have seen because it is asymmetrical (many urchins have 5-way symmetry).

Yes Sea potato Echinocardium cordatum, an unusual creature, usually lives under the sand.
