| | | frogs in garden forgive me if this is in the wrong section i am still learning my way round the site
i need to start digging over my garden and putting black plastic down to kill the weeds and grass.
my dilemma is that i have a lot of baby frogs in the garden and they are the first frogs from my 12 month old pond.
so my question is when would the best time to start the the work without endangering the frogs to much ? |

The best time to dig over a garden is early winter, this allows frost (assuming we get some ) to break down the soil in preparation for planting in the spring. This is also the time when frogs and other wildlife will be hibernating and least likely to become casualties. Like Dogghound says, there's no completely risk-free time to do it, but you can minimise the risk by taking care.
All the best

| | | Re: frogs in garden thank you for replies.
i already had a small patch of land that i had covered over with black plastic.
i folded it back the other day to see how things were progressing
only to find loads of frogs had made their home there
i thought winter might be the best time not long now | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
