Yesterday evening, we went to the beach - Dinas Dinlle to be precise. While son & husband built sandcastles and dug moats, I walked along by the sea looking for nice shells (which there were a lot of, bivalves especially).Forgot how pleasant it was walking on the beach, seeing the waves coming in, the salt breeze in my hair but I saw "carnage". Seaweeds washed up, lots of ex-spider crabs (in bits), and lots of jellyfish: lion's mane?.

Nice stuff. I was thinking the other day there is very little seashore life posted on nthese forums. Ive always wanted to see a sail by the wind sailor. A few years ago i spent 3weeks at Walton naze and walked along the beach every morning, and always found 5cm long comb jellys washed up on the shore

Yes, the top one is a Lion's Mane. A lot around this year and many of them have juvenile whiting sheltering in them.
