i've just been on one of the fishing sites i use and some one has put a post on about a big shark seen while a group was diving of oban they were all experienced divers and are all used to basking sharks and said it was deffo not one of them more like a porbeagle the thing is it was about 10ft long so it was quite some shark and as some one else pointed out the record is 507lb and that was 8ft 10" must have been an awsome sight to see. |

Sounds like quite a fish, there are other sharks of that size though it could have been. That is quite abit bigger than the record unless they overexadurated! |

Actually I think the Tourist Board should be hoping there IS a confirmed sighting because that'll get them even more tourists, just of a different type!

I was annoyed in todays tabloids ...some "Shark Hunter/ killer" has sworn he will get our big shark ( great white or not )
If it IS a great white i definately dont want it killed even if it does mean i shall never set foot in the british sea again ! ( ok...maybe some rock pooling) |

All the footage & photos that I have seen of the "Cornish Great White" looks the same as the photos I took of basking sharks when I was in cornwall last month, it really winds me up as no shark needs the bad press of "maneater" or "ruthless predator". I have e-mailed my feelings to the sun newspaper today!!!!!!  |
