I've got frogs in one of my ponds - they occasionally hop to the other one but not often, and they have never spawned here. Just visiting, or too young? They are very good at hiding, I agree.
On the other hand, I have had toadspawn (but not seen a single adult toad) in one pond, and in the other pond I have palmate newts, and what look like newt eggs with developing larvae inside. I read somewhere that frogs, toads and newts all prefer slightly different environments... I wonder if that's true?

they go walk about but come back try if you can leaving some old carpet or bricks just some thing for them to crawl under and you will probeblyfind more than one frog on your garden in a day or two
by the way fish wont eat full grown frogs |

| | | Re: frogs Fish are more of a problem for newts, although fish do eat tadpoles of all our regular amphibians, you probrably have lots of frogs you just see 1 or 2 similar looking frogs on a regular basis. |
