but I must say I have only seen them silver or red

The second one is behind the reed stem. Look for the eye

| | | Re: Fish in the brook. Thanks. They seemed a bit bigger than I remember sticklebacks to be, but that will be because they are about 10ft below the bank. I'll need to climb down for a closer look anyway because there are a few fish that are about twice the size of these two in there. |

I can't see 3 big spines along its back but there could be a number of smaller ones (its hard to make out) but if it is so id go with 9 spined stickleback |
