Is it just me or are wind farms a total waste of money?
Surely its windy enough in the UK without wasting electricity making more of it by running these huge fans?

Just like a member of a Welsh council who wrote a letter to a local newspaper suggested that residents views could be protected by planting trees in front of the wind turbines. Maybe he thought it was an environmentally friendly way of making wood chippings ? |

They are very profitable and quite a few isolated communities are deriving a great deal of benefit from running these on their own account.
Maybe some conservation organisations could benefit from £400,000 per annum going into their coffers.
