| | | Re: Water Butts for free? Well done, brilliant idea. I wish that our Council used Wheely Bins. They get blown away here so we have to put up with black plassy bags that gulls rip apart if left out overnight. -I never leave my gulls out overnight these days.

Apparently they have to pay to dispose of them so are more than happy to get rid of them in other ways. Most of the damage is wheels missing but if you use these as water butts you don't want the wheels.
As long as the bin isn't cracked it's easy to drill a hole for a tap, you can stand them next to each other neatly, chain them and if they still have their lid the water stays clean.
Given the price of new water butts, if your Council will play ball, this could save a fortune.
