| | | Re: Did you buy anything plastic today? I don't honestly get too sad seeing such things - I suppose after all my years I am bitter and cynical about our effect on the world.
However, on a brighter not perhaps it adds yet another good reason to the list of good reasons for us all to recycle plastics as much as possible - if we don't bin it then it won't end up floating in the sea and eaten by birds. We can all do our bit to help ... I once saw how those plastic beer-can ties with round holes get stuck around the necks and legs of birds so I make sure that I slice every one I dispose of with a sharp knife, breaking every hole and making it a little bit more 'wildlife-safe' |

| | | Re: Did you buy anything plastic today? Sadly whenever i go fishing i always end up picking up plastic trash that others just discard. A lot of it is fairly obviously other people who have been fishing as there's usually tackle wrappers, bait wrappers and fishing line lying around. It makes me sick, they destroy and pollute the very environment that they're taking food from.
I have a rule that when i go down the beach or into the countryside that i pick up some rubbish along the way and dispose of it properly. As much as there's idiots who throw the stuff away, there's also plenty of idiots who just walk past it and say it's not their problem. It is, afterall, everyone's problem, and if we all picked up a bit of rubbish or two everytime we went out, the world would be a much nicer place - it's not a great hardship to do this. | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
