| | | Waste Management Jobs for recent graduates Hello,
I was wondering if any of you know where I could look for some jobs within a field of waste management. I'm a recent graduate so I don't have to much experience what seems to be a huge barrier to overcome
Many thx for any help |

| | | Re: Waste Management Jobs for recent graduates You could try
Cumbria Waste Management Ltd.
Unit 5a
Wavell Drive
Rosehill Estate
Carlisle
CA1 2SD
They are a pretty good company whom I've dealt with.
Sorry, don't know where you are in the country but hope you get sorted.

| | | Re: Waste Management Jobs for recent graduates What sort of waste management? In farming terms, 'waste management' is usually composting of household / trade waste or human sewage sludge/cake and finding land to apply it to, there are often jobs in farmer's weekly (often water companies or their subsidaries) also on their website FWi. Have you googled, there must be other equivalent specialist sites which would carry ads for folks like biffa. |

| | | Re: Waste Management Jobs for recent graduates My course covered almost every aspect of waste management and environmental management (recycling - clean & dirty MRF, source segregation, composting, incineration, waste audits and minimization plans, EIA etc.) and although I am particularly interested in Environmental Impact Assessment and Hazardous waste treatment and disposal, I'm currently looking for anything connected with all above just to establish myself somewhere, but they always want at least 2 years of experience - which I obviously don't have - so is the voluntary work the only option for graduates to get any experience ? |

| | | Re: Waste Management Jobs for recent graduates Of course there's always work with the regulatory bodies - the Environment Agency or SEPA as an Environment Officer. They employ green graduates (no pun intended).

| | | Re: Waste Management Jobs for recent graduates I think Student Force regularly post waste management jobs for graduates on environmentjob.co.uk or you can go directly to their website. Your local council will probably have vacancies in that field on their websites as well. |

| | | Re: Waste Management Jobs for recent graduates If you are interested in Hazardous waste treatment and disposal then approach landfill site companies and council environment offices. Here is an old list of top 20 waste companies that operate landfill sites but will give you a start for who to apply to. http://www.landfill-site.com/html/wa...ement_cos.html
Most of the big waste companies have a graduate program but you have to apply to head office and be prepared to go where the work is.
Good luck, it's a rewarding career. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
