| | | Dumped Dumped, it’s on C4 this Sunday.
1st of 4 programmes where 11 volunteers are left stranded on a landfill site for 3 weeks. They must survive off waste material that they find.
Should highlight the amount of waste we dump. Let’s hope that the first thing they find is a bathtub !

| | | Re: Dumped I'll be watching. I'm amazed this programme got the go-ahead what with all the health and safety regulations that there are these days.
Apparently the contestants didn't actually know they were going to end up on a landfill site.
"The participants have willingly agreed to take part in a testing eco-challenge but they don't know where. Most have assumed that they will be dropped into a pristine natural environment like the Amazon rainforest or the Arctic. How will they react when they are delivered to a huge, smelly British landfill site where they are forced to make a home from other people's waste?" Dumped from Channel4.com |

| | | Re: Dumped I will be tuned into it, on paper it looks like it could be quite interesting.... But it could turn out as a total let down, it will depend on the contestants.

They had to build a clean, tidy, sanitary pretend landfill site just for the series. Their encampment sits in a landscape of specially constructed rubbish-hillocks, intersected by winding pathways, like the set of Teletubbies, but with garbage instead of grass. In fact, this is carefully chosen rubbish, representing a typical selection of British waste, but without the used nappies and putrefying food to be found on the real landfill near by. It also handily includes things like an old box of carpenter’s tools, plumbing pipes with snap-lock joints and a useful selection of dining chairs. - from Top of the tips - Times Online

| | | Re: Dumped It sounds like 'The Scrapheap Challenge', if someone said, " We need 3 miles of bungee elastic with a widget on the end ", they'd go out searching and find one!
I bet they end up building a shower !!
