| | | 4-5 Berth British Weather Tent I am looking for a family type tent 4-5 berth that will take British weather
So far the only one that has taken my eye is a Coleman Duo 3 or 5
I want to order one in the very near future to get some practice in
NB. my car only has a small boot (my last tent one was a Hawly Goodall)

| | | Re: 4-5 Berth British Weather Tent hello...
as promised the tent my mum and dad have is a vango idaho. sits nicely on the back of the motorbike. its pretty small. when you say 'small boot' how small are we talking here, not to be nosy but what car? bet you anything my boots smaller! the vango range is pretty extensive. i've got the alpha 200, but that only sleeps two. i'd check out the following link to vango's family tent range, particularly if you don't want to be scrabbling through titchy little tent flaps on your knee's! i promise this link works! Vango, manufacturer of tents, sleeping bags, rucsacs and accessories

| | | Re: 4-5 Berth British Weather Tent tescos actually do a suprisingly good range (branded sherwood) with their 4 person coming in at under 50 notes , and the 6 person at arround 65
if you want to spend a bit more than that it is well worth checking out your nearest go outdoors which will have a major range of tents on display for you to go in and out of etc
see this link for your nearest store Great Range of 5-6 person Tents at Excellent Prices at GO Outdoors
Ive just bought a 1 person vango there reduced from 100 to 65 notes - but they have a good range of bigger tents too

| | | Re: 4-5 Berth British Weather Tent Thanks to Sarah, her Mum and Dad,Boddie and Eeyore for their suggestions
The Idaho is a nice tent but too pricy
We (the lioness) have ordered a Coleman Duo 5 a great barn of a tent
I did however like the look of:
Vango Idaho
Coleman trailblazer 5
Khyam Freelander
VRX Scenic 4.2-4
Outwell Montana
Peakland Challenger
and a rather fetching 4 man Arctic tent The Outdoors - UK Army Surplus Shop - Tents
Note the Arctic liner

| | | Re: 4-5 Berth British Weather Tent The Colemans second outing really strong winds and very heavy rain
the Celcius Duo 5 rode it out no trouble only one problem the sloping
door had no awning so when opened the rain came in but still a very
impressive tent.
We looked for a larger tent and found the Coleman Magellan Nine for
half price(also looked at the Oswald Bailey Fiesta 6 a HUGE tent for £169)

| | | Re: 4-5 Berth British Weather Tent i've just bought a Eureka Tunnel Vison CV RS from Taunton leisure. i looked at loads at the tent show at exeter racecourse last week before deciding on that one. i'm 6ft 4in and it was one of the few i could actually lat flat in!
plus when we went looking on the sunday is was pee'ing it down, which was good for seeing which tents stood up to the conditions and the Eureka beat all the others hands down! |

| | | Re: 4-5 Berth British Weather Tent Decided the Huge Coleman Magellan 9 (six adults no probs) was too big for us
so we have yet another tent a Coleman Cedar Creek that looks a bit like a Yurt!
We now have enough tents for a circus
The Duo and the Magellan have both seen gales and extremely heavy rain and
aquitted themselves very well indeed

| | | Re: 4-5 Berth British Weather Tent Bought a five berth tent a couple of years back from Millets for a hundred quid. It was a 'Eurohike' brand (Millets own?). It's seen us well for a few good downpours and is a roomy thing.
There's only two of us using it but we like to be able to stand up, move around, play cards with mates, eat under cover, spread out maps, generally chill!
Looking forward to taking it out for a third year... |

Most of my spare time now is split between Slapton Ley and
Damage Barton(near Woolacombe/Illfracombe) both excellent
camping club sites
