| | | South West Coastal Path I am planning on walking a section of the SWCP over the easter break, and am unsure as to which part to do.
I'll be going for 3 days, and am looking for stunning scenery, and as wild as possible, ie. the fewer towns/villages the better. I'm happy to do strenuous ups and downs and cliff walking. Any suggestions much appreciated, thanks. |

This may help you to decide The Official Guide to the South West Coast Path |

| | | Re: South West Coastal Path It's difficult to pick out a three day section and say " that's
the part to do". It's all beautiful, and very varied. I would suggest
Minehead to Ilfracombe. This section runs along the north edge
of exmoor and is simply stunning. It's also the start point of
the S.W.C.P. which is good because you'll probably want to complete
the whole lot, either in sections, or if you're like me you'll get
addicted and do it in one go.
Let us know what you decide on, and how you get on.

| | | Re: South West Coastal Path i spent some of last week working around St. Agnes and Perranporth, that is nice.
i'll be making a special trip down to there one sunny sunday with the camera. There are some stunning views from the cliff tops, which contrast nicely with the old tin mine buildings scattered throughout the area. |

| | | Re: South West Coastal Path Living in the south west myself, I often walk parts of the costal path. If you only have three days may i suggest covering exmoor. Personally I would go the furthest down the costal line and make my way upwards. Unfortunately it is alot of hills but it sounds like this wont deter you!! Happy Hiking |

| | | Re: South West Coastal Path The area near the end of the path around the Dorset cliffs would be pretty impressive, the scenery is amazing, Durdle Door, Dancing Ledge and Old Harry for example and mostly you'll just see really nice farming villages.

Guy | I'm not sure where the path runs (it's a long time since I've ventured as far as Devon ) but I have done the 'Jurassic Way' through Dorset. Like the rest of these coastal walks, there are plenty of insects ( ) and, of course, great scenery but I actually like the geology and, of course, the Jurassic limestones and clays are full of fossils and geological features ... Have a good time - difficult no to.

| | | Re: South West Coastal Path I think it runs from Pool all round the coast to Minehead.
Down in Exmouth it is being turned into a cycle path and a great deal of bushes hedgrow ans trees have been flattend . I went along there a couple of weeks ago and was horrified. Wire fencing 6feet high and iff you did see a bird or some thing you have the mesh wire to photograph before the subject. I'm not against cycling I was a great cyclist my self up until about 6 years ago. But what happened to rambling ? |

| | | Re: South West Coastal Path I live in North Devon so I am probably bias but anywhere between Mortehoe and Porlock would be a great walk (takes in Exmoor as others have suggested). Only a couple of days ago I was walking the path between Morte Point and Bull point - stunning views. |
