| | | Coast to Coast Walk - 2012 I've decided to walk the Coast to Coast (again) next year in 2012. I was going to cycle the route, but a cycle route around the North Yorkshire Coast, Dales and Moors is being planned and hopefully will have a route laid out.
It's early days as yet, but I need to start the planning and training in the new year.
I need some new boots, although, I may opt for trainer's instead.
I'm walking from St. Bees to Robin Hood's Bay as that is the best way to do it.
I, intend to back-pack the route as this will keep the cost down. However, it would be nice to stay at a hostel on some nights.
The over-night camp sites have been selected. (see my Blog for further details)
Anyway, that's the plan. I need to select a fortnight for the walk, The month of May would be ideal or maybe late September/early October as a second option.
I wouldn't be on the forum as much as I used to be. So, at that, I will keep my blog active for any updates as when and then it arise's. |

| | | Re: Coast to Coast Walk - 2012 Thanks, Pauline. I'm hoping you are fit and well.
I'm hoping to get some time off in November and cycle the C2C, that is the one that go's from Whitehaven to Sunderland via the North Pennines. I will probably camp that too.
I will keep you posted on that, if it comes off. |

| | | Re: Coast to Coast Walk - 2012 Oh hum, drum drum. Change of plans again, that I'm thinking now of the Dales Way combined with part of Coast to Coast.
It was that, being a paid up member of the Dales Way Association, I received my newsletter this morning and thought how lovely that walk is. Of cause, I've done the Dales Way twice, that was in 1989 and 1993 and thinking it would make a lovely walk to do again. But, it's only 78 miles. So, I'm going to link up the Coast to Coast walk, well part of it, that being from High Street to Osmotherley, that should make a fortnight walking holiday.
If you are nice, I will maybe post some of my photos of the Dales Way on here. |

Sounds good to me and not a walk I have seen photos of - so yes please - do post some and lets be having a ganders.
Thanks for good health wishers - afraid its all off the wall - I keep relapsing and like you changing my mind about how to try and deal with it - sooner or later something has to work - I can't live my life in this limbo where I can't plan for anything - its really depressing me that next years hols which are already booked (one postponed and allowed into next year by the holiday company) but if I'm still like this then I won;t be going. Anyhow thats enough about that - lets be seeing some nice Dales photies to brighten me up!

| | | Re: Coast to Coast Walk - 2012 I will post the 1989 photos on here, these are better than the 1993 ones, where I had a lot of rain on the 2nd day. The River Wharfe burst it's banks and the Dales Way path from Kettlewell to Buckden was flooded up to waist-height. I resorted to the road instead. The 1989 photos are 35mm slide format and will need a little clean up and this will take a little while longer. There are about 40 slides to scan through, but, give me a week or so and I will get there. |
